In the deepest seas there ever were lived an invincible merman named Poseidon. Posiedon was the strongest god right after Zeus. His weapon was a Trident. One day there was a brutal battle, all the mermens and mermaids had to defend their territory from the terrible Morbles. This was a name  for a horrible group of people who came from land to destroy all mermens and mermaids and expose them to the world just for money. Whilst the battle was continuing, their leader Posiedon was injured . He had two blows  on his tail and he couldn’t continue the battle .He new that he was going to die and so the trident was hidden in a secret cave that was forbidden. Knowing the trident was safe, his strength was returning, and so he fought the Morbles with his all until there wasn’t one standing. As Posiedon took a few looks around him he cried “It is done”. Then fate went on it’s own path.

500 years later, the sea was finally clear. Their was no one their except the trident that was lurking in the forbidden cave. The trident was to stay there, and never been mentioned or raised from the dead again. This rule stayed like this until a boy called Perseus wanted to know if the legend states true. So in order to find out , he went down very deep in the water. All he could see were coral caves, fishes and other creatures in there with him. Until…. he got to a cave. He stopped and had second thoughts about going there. For it did look very unstable and very freaky. But instincts still told him to go in the cave and he turned out going in. When Perseus was in, he saw something amazing. Something old. Something magical. In a few minutes he then realised that he had unlocked the most powerful weapon in the world. The Trident. But great power means great responsibility.

Perseus took the Trident with him and brought it home. He knew that the Trident had unimaginable strength. He thought about how he could take over the world, or become the new version of Poseidon. Then gradually evil took over his mind and the trident became stronger than Perseus ever thought or knew about.

It was the next morning. Perseus felt more than ready to take over the world. Using the trident for evil suddenly started to make the trident’s powers exposed. Then Perseus  started to learn more about the old ancient weapon. Not only was he taking over one part of the earth but he was taking over the whole world. Life was going to be difficult having Perseus alive, and while taking over the whole earth he could’ve created his own country or planet. But it never happened, because a brave man called Percy saved the world and changed it for good.

Percy was a small boy who grew up to become a warrior. It was something he desired for many years . But he also did something else as a living . Studying the trident. He knew no one could resist having weapon in a sea without being discovered and raised again. But he never thought of someone using the trident for evil, and so he had to intervene. Before Percy did anything he knew he couldn’t fight Perseus alone, especially since he had the trident. He needed help, so he went to the only person he could trust, Zeus. He made a sacrifice and went to Zeus’s throne. There he saw him sitting in his chair with all the other Gods who have died  on Earth, which means he saw Posiedon. When he entered the throne he told Zeus and all the Gods the bad news. When Posiedon heard his weapon was used for evil he knew Perseus had to be stopped. So him and Zeus used their powers to make a strong decent army to help Percy defeat Perseus. As Percy took a good look at his team, he  gathered all of them together and told them how they could work together against Perseus. They all took on every word and followed obediently. Then Percy knew Perseus had a hell of a fight coming his path.

It was a cold and windy day. Perseus was sitting in a chair full of gold and was wearing a crown. He wanted to be king. As he was sitting in his chair he was controlling the weather and making many people suffer, some even died. But then he stopped, and saw the amount of people who stood before him to get the trident back. Percy was leading them and together he knew they could defeat Perseus. So before they did anything, Perseus started the battle off with using the trident and making lightning bolts strike two of Percy’s men. Then he used the trident again and pierced  Percy’s men with the trident’s three spears. After Percy seeing many of his men dead, he then used his sword and swung it directly towards the trident. A big scratch mark was left on the weapon but Perseus was still standing tall. Then Percy tried to do another swing with his sword but this time Perseus blocked it and used the trident to give him a big whack on his face. Two massive scratch marks were left on Percy and then from there they rallied on.They kept going on until Perseus used the trident and drew the energy out of Percy. This made him very weak and so Perseus was on the stage of winning. But…Percy just remembered. The trident can only go up to 100 degrees. If it goes over it’ll explode. So before Perseus was about to strike Percy, he used his silver shield to block himself  from the trident. Whilst the trident was being pierced in Percy’s shield, It started to light up. Then small lightning bolts started to come out of the shield. A few minutes later the Trident started to light on fire and become very red. Then it exploded.Perseus was defenceless and he was weak.Good won over evil and now the trident was no longer alive. In the end Percy was crowned King of The Sea in Zeus’s mystical world. He was now known as son of Posiedon. He comes to people when they need help and is now the God of bravery. This will continue for eternity.

THE END

  1. Hello Chris,

You have developed this well, drawing upon your knowledge of myths to help add relevant details to your story.

    You must now:
    1) Re-read and edit spelling – look at the difference between new and knew, there and their
    2) Always re-read and edit your sentence structures – where are there words missing? How can your meaning be made clearer?
    3) Does your piece have a definite ending?

    Genre writing nearly achieved.

  2. Chris,

You have nearly achieved the genre badge, but you’re not quite there. You must now re-read and edit spelling, focusing on homphones (there, their and they’re) – which should you use and when?

Re-read and edit your work – how might you make your meaning clearer?
